La Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud identifica a las enfermedades asociadas con el envejecimiento, como la demencia, como un importante desaf\u00edo de salud global que los profesionales de atenci\u00f3n sanitaria actuales y futuros deben enfrentar. Y debido a la diversidad cultural presente en la sociedad actual, la globalizaci\u00f3n y el grado de movilidad en el mercado laboral, es probable que los pacientes de edad avanzada sean atendidos por una enfermera geri\u00e1trica que no comparte los mismos valores, tradiciones y antecedentes culturales que el paciente. .<\/p>\n<p>La situaci\u00f3n epid\u00e9mica actual hace que todas las instituciones de educaci\u00f3n superior y universidades sean muy conscientes de la necesidad de crear cursos de aprendizaje combinados\/a distancia. Es vital que estos se creen de una manera que optimice el aprendizaje y asegure un mayor desarrollo de las habilidades y competencias de los estudiantes en el futuro. La simulaci\u00f3n es una forma segura de capacitar a los proveedores de atenci\u00f3n sanitaria para brindar una atenci\u00f3n eficaz a las personas mayores y sus familias, y existe evidencia de que la capacitaci\u00f3n con simulaci\u00f3n puede mejorar la calidad de la atenci\u00f3n brindada a las personas mayores. Sin embargo, aunque los programas de simulaci\u00f3n geri\u00e1trica se est\u00e1n desarrollando ahora mismo en todo el mundo, apenas se aborda el tema de las diferencias interculturales como un problema del que las enfermeras geri\u00e1tricas profesionales deben ser muy conscientes.<\/p>\n<p>En este contexto, los objetivos de GNurseSIM son apoyar a las instituciones de educaci\u00f3n superior y universidades para que brinden a los estudiantes de enfermer\u00eda geri\u00e1trica oportunidades durante su formaci\u00f3n para practicar habilidades de adopci\u00f3n de un enfoque hol\u00edstico multidisciplinario para el cuidado de pacientes mayores.
